masterpiece using collage and paint.
Develop your own style and learn about a famous 20th century
artist, such as Monet, Matisse, or Warhol.
This class is so much fun you’ll never want to leave! Paint with acrylics on a real artist’s canvas
board.

Ceramics students will
learn the skills they need to create lasting three-dimensional objects using
clay and glazes. This introduction to
hand building and throwing teaches studio techniques and clay characteristics. Participants will develop knowledge of the
materials and processes needed to successfully construct functional and
sculptural work.

fundamentals to represent what they see in still lifes. Each class will introduce new skill set and
will enable the student to develop quickly and gain appreciation of what the
artist sees.
About the instructors….
Tresia Oosting
has been a working artist for many years and is especially known for her creative
rapport with young students. Oosting is
currently the instructor with the SAS’s Crosswalk program. She offers workshops
and classes for young people throughout the region.
Mark Moore
creates ceramic art using recycled and natural materials. He has been making stoneware pots for over 25
years. Moore is the co-owner of
Trackside Studio, a contemporary ceramic gallery in downtown Spokane,
Washington. He and collaborators fire
the “Boxagama” wood fired kiln.
Michael McCarthy has many years of experience in the educational field including diverse
populations such as physically and developmentally disabled adults and
seniors. He has worked in several
capacities for the Spokane Art School, including summer camp instructor, and
coordinator of its senior Artreach
program. McCarthy has a BFA from Eastern
Washington University.
